Instructor: Daniel Jones
Assistant Instructors: Haley Grady, Ella Jones, Elaina Jones, & Erica Jones
Our staff has over 30 years of experience teaching swimming lessons. Daniel has been teaching for the past five years and received his Water Safety Instructor certification from Duke University. Daniel began swimming at age 3 and was swimming competitively at the Goldsboro YMCA with the Goldsboro Sharks Swim Team by age 5. Daniel has won many swimming medals while swimming competitively for both the Sharks and the Kinston Kingfish. Erica has taught swimming lessons for over 25 years in a variety of facilities. We are very knowledgeable in all four strokes and will prepare your child to be safe in and around the water.
We offer large group, small group, and private swim lessons and follow the American Red Cross Learn to Swim Curriculum. We teach group lessons at Duplin Country Club in Kenansville and small group/private lessons in the Wallace, Beulaville, and Pink Hill areas. Red Cross swimming classes for kids are tailored to the needs of each child, so that he or she can progress at a comfortable pace. Some children may advance more quickly or slowly; however, our instructors ensure that everyone receives the instruction they need.
In the Learn-to-Swim program, parents or guardians are welcome and encouraged to stay and watch their kids' swim lessons. This not only helps increase the child's comfort level in the water, but can help parents understand the process and practice skills with their children.
During swim lessons, children will spend time on the following six levels:
We are excited to share highlights from this past summer and announce that our free swim camps for kids will return in Summer 2026! With the unveiling of our new logo, we are moving forward with fresh energy and an even stronger commitment to helping children build confidence, friendships, and life-saving swimming skills.
This past summer, we offered three unique 5-day swim camps, each running 1 hour per day and tailored to meet the needs of different groups of children in our community:
Each of these camps had limited space to ensure personalized attention, and they were a huge success thanks to our campers, families, volunteers, and coaches.
Looking ahead to Summer 2026, all three camps will return—continuing our mission to provide free, high-quality opportunities for children to grow, connect, and thrive through swimming.
Stay tuned for registration updates, and help us spread the word so even more families can take part in these life-changing camps!
Thank you to everyone who volunteered, generously gave, and participated in our camp. Check out our highlights, article, and upcoming camps below.
These lessons will be small to large group lessons at Duplin Country Club: 148 Duplin Country Club Rd, Kenansville, NC 28349
We offer private small group and individual lessons in the Beulaville, Wallace, and Kenansville area:

All your child will need for lessons is their swim suit, towel, and sunscreen. If they would like to wear goggles they can but it is not required.
A parent or guardian is required to remain with students who are five and under to assist with their child's basic needs such as bathroom breaks. All parents/guardians are allowed and encouraged to stay and watch their child's lesson each day so that they can help them practice skills they are learning.
On the last day of class, your child will receive their American Red Cross Learn to Swim achievement booklet and a swimming-related surprise.
